What to expect

➤  You can expect to speak to someone who understands the law and can give you advice about how to proceed with your matter. We are committed to ensuring that you are fully informed at all steps in the process and will take the time to answer all of your questions.

➤  Going to court is nothing like what you see on TV or in the movies. In NSW, it can sometimes take months or years for your matter to be finalised. Most cases involve a guilty plea, but it can still take time before you receive a final sentence.

➤  The solicitors at Kingston Fox Lawyers understand how the criminal justice system works in NSW. Often, people are charged with a number of offences as ‘back up’ offences. As former prosecutors, we have experience with plea negotiations and the partners at Kingston Fox Lawyers can make representations to police or agencies to potentially reduce the number of charges before the court.

➤  When you first speak to us at Kingston Fox Lawyers, we will have a brief chat about your situation. You can then arrange a time to discuss your matter in more detail. We can do this in person, over the phone or even via Skype. We are committed to embracing technology to make your life easier.

➤  You should email us any documents you have received from the police. We will look at the offence you have been charged with, the statement of facts and any other relevant documents available. Our partners will explain the legislation and what the prosecution have to prove. We will provide you with advice as to the best course of action in your matter and answer any questions you have. We will then send you a letter or email outlining the things we have spoken about.

➤  We can be flexible, and depending on the matter, can provide you with a fixed-fee quote or an estimate of costs.
