Based in Sydney but servicing all NSW courts, the team at Kingston Fox Lawyers can advise and represent you and are experienced in all types of criminal law matters in the NSW Local, District and Supreme courts. The partners, Alexandra and Erin, have a combined 30+ years’ experience exclusively in criminal law, both State and Commonwealth and as former prosecutors have dealt with some of the largest prosecutions in NSW. They are also amongst the top female criminal lawyers in Sydney.

Having practised exclusively in criminal law, Erin has been involved in some of the largest prosecutions in NSW. Erin was previously a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions where she had carriage of a broad range of Commonwealth prosecutions including large scale drug and cigarette importations, tobacco cultivation, computer hacking offences, intellectual property offences, serious money laundering, fraud including Centrelink and tax fraud and wildlife and quarantine offences. Erin’s particular expertise is in complex indictable matters including multi-accused prosecutions. As a former prosecutor, Erin has the insight necessary to see both sides of a matter and be in the best position to provide strategic advice to clients.

Erin is an experienced advocate, regularly appearing in summary and committal hearings in the Local Court, District Court sentences, severity and conviction appeals and bail applications from the Local Court to the Supreme Court. Erin has worked with some of the most experienced criminal barristers in NSW in complex trials in the District Court and appeals before the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal and the High Court of Australia.

Erin studied law at Macquarie University and after graduating, completed a Masters degree in law at the University of Sydney.

Erin has been identified by her fellow Solicitors and Barristers specialising in Criminal Law as one of the state's Leading Criminal Lawyers in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 as well as one of Australia's leading White Collar Crime, Corporate Crime and Regulatory Investigations Lawyers in the 2018, 2019 and 2020 Doyle's Guide.

Alexandra has a commitment and passion for the criminal law. After completing her law degree at Macquarie University, Alexandra worked at the NSW Crime Commission and then spent 14 years at the Commonwealth DPP, progressing to the position of a Principal Federal Prosecutor before establishing her own criminal law practice. Alexandra is passionate about helping clients be informed and in control of their situation, and takes pride in running a law firm that is modern, professional and embraces technology.

Alexandra is experienced in the courtroom and regularly appears in court in summary hearings, District Court matters, Supreme Court bails and instructs experienced counsel when necessary. As well as individual cases, she also specialises in large scale multi accused prosecutions involving complex technical computer evidence, documentary evidence, surveillance evidence, telephone intercepts, listening devices and other forms of electronic monitoring.

Alexandra can resolve and explain complex legal issues quickly and efficiently. She understands that being charged with a criminal offence and moving through the NSW legal system is a daunting prospect. Alexandra is focussed on guiding you through the criminal law system to achieve the best possible outcome.

PHILIPPA RICH

Philippa is committed to criminal defence and social justice. Philippa provides quality assistance and representation to clients in all criminal matters and appears daily in the Local and District Courts. Philippa has a broad range of experience in Local Court matters and appears as advocate for clients in sentences, section 14 applications, defended hearings and bail applications. Philippa has experience across all areas of criminal defence law including drug offences, personal and domestic violence including ADVO applications, theft and fraud offences and driving and traffic matters.

Philippa has experience instructing counsel in District Court trials for matters such as sexual assault, drug supply and complex Commonwealth matters amongst others. She has developed an excellent network of barristers that she briefs for those matters.

Philippa has an excellent ability to make complex court processes easy to understand for clients, putting her client’s minds at ease. She provides thorough and empathetic advice and is experienced in negotiating with police and prosecutors and is a clear and thoughtful advocate in court.

Philippa studied a combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws at Macquarie University.
